Background*

At its August 30-31, 2010 meeting, the MLPA North Coast Regional Stakeholder Group (NCRSG) developed a single MPA proposal in Round 3 of the north coast MPA planning process; the NCRSG also developed a recommendation for special closures. The MPA proposal and special closures will be analyzed by the MLPA Master Plan Science Advisory Team, California Department of Fish and Game, California Department of Parks and Recreation, and MLPA Initiative staff.
